To add a new page to the website navigate to 'Content -> Pages by using the menu at the top of the screen. To do this hover your mouse over the Content menu item which is near the top left-hand corner of the screen and then clicking on the first option in the drop-down menu that appears, called Pages.
You will now see a screen which lists all of the pages in the website, you will see an option called Add New Content, click on this option.
This will take you to the Add New Content, where you find two tabs, Main and Options.
Main
- Start by selecting the content type of the page. For a normal page you just use the default, which is Content.
- Then you select the title for the page. The menu text can be different and is what will be shown in the menu.
- If the page you are adding is supposed to be a sub-item to another page, then you select the parent page among the existing pages.
- Then select what template to use for this particular page, unless you have a reason to use a different template, just leave this option as it is.
- And lastly, add the actual content of the page. This works as a WYSIWYG editor (What You See is What You Get), this means that you can edit the page like a Word file, then when you save the page the user will see the page almost exactly as you made it.
- Finally click one of the buttons at the bottom:
- Preview -- to preview the page without saving or leaving the editing window
- Submit -- to submit the changes and return to Content » Pages
- Cancel -- to return to Content » Pages without applying any of the changes you have made
- Apply -- to apply the changes you made, but still staying in the editing window
Options
Active -- Another way of activating or deactivating a page.
Show in Menu -- Sometimes you want a page to be accessible (active), but not show up in the menu. Then just untick this box.
Cachable -- If you enable caching, the page will load much faster.
Additional Editors -- You can select other users to be allowed to edit this page. Users that belong to a group with permission to edit all pages are already allowed to edit this page as well.
